RAJRATAN READYMADE SEPTIC TANK

These tanks are intended to be used where no proper drainage facilities are available. They must be used in connection with the Water Closets (WC) equipped with adequate flushing system. The sewage after flushing is led from the lavatory along the P.V.C. soil pipes into the receiving chamber i.e., the septic tank, where by bacterial action and settling a system of purification is set up converting the organic matter of sewage into liquid & gases. The liquid i.e., effluent whereby is discharged through the outlet into soak pit or trench, which should not be closer than 15 Mt. to an underground source of fresh water. The gases are discharged through the gas pipe which can be installed on the joinery of inlet pipe.
It is used in connection with the WC’s equipped with adequate flushing systems. The installation of the septic tanks is very simple. Place them into an excavation of the required depth & size as per dimensions of the pit is mentioned. After securely placing the tank in the pit, the pipes should be connected properly. Then fill the pit with loose earth leaving the lid free and fill the tank fully with water. The purification process starts as soon as the lavatory is used. Kindly note that there should not be any pointed rocks or particles which may damage the surface of the tank while it is being lowered in the pit and also make sure about the same that while covering with earth during sealing the pit after commissioning of tank. Ensure that there is a fall from the outlet pipe so that the effluent may flow away freely into the soak pit. The outlet pipe is never more than half full of effluent thus allowing free ventilation. There is a baffle plate inside the tank behind the outlet pipe, which prevents the scum from entering & blocking it.

Septic Tank requires periodic cleaning, but it is difficult to recommended how frequently this should be done as it largely depends upon its usage. Tanks can easily be cleaned by flushing clean water through the tank or simply by pumping the scum out, with the help of municipal mud pumps. Tanks may function satisfactorily for 10-12 years without cleaning but we recommend that they should be inspected at least every two years.
The use of disinfectant or antiseptics such as concentrated soap water and phenyl for cleaning the lavatory or septic tanks should be discouraged since the effects is likely to be injurious to the bacterial action of the purification process.
